I applied this about a month ago. My yard had a serious mole infestation. There was a mound every few feet, probably 20 mounds on a yard that isn’t very big. The moles have left; no new mounds. I can’t say how long the product’s effects will last, I will try to come back and update this review at a later date.

All natural (important since we have well water) and easy to apply. I’d imagine a spreader would be the best way, but with a small yard and no spreader I simply put on a glove and cast it around by hand.

UPDATE 6/18/2013

The moles are back so it’s time to reapply. I got about 6 weeks of coverage from this purchase. It was somewhat rainy during that time, I would expect to get longer lasting protection through the drier summer months.

Milky Spore is a bacterium that infects and kills grubs. You apply milky spore to your lawn and water it in so grubs become infected by swallowing a spore when feeding on grass roots. The grub is killed 7 to 21 days later. As the grub decomposes billions of new spores will be introduced into the soil from one grub.

As the spores multiply in your soil, they spread to cover the entire lawn. As time passes, the spores will spread to neighboring lawns. This bacterium becomes more effective over time and has a life span of 15 years.

Milky Spore is approved by the EPA. It is a safe material to kill grubs. It is not toxic to insects, birds, pets or humans. It will not affect wells, ponds or streams. Also, it is harmless for food crops.

STARTING SEEDS

Whether you use egg cartons, trays or pots, be sure the seedlings get lots of light and don’t dry out. Keep evenly moist.

Be sure and plant some hardy flower seeds too, like petunias and marigolds. Transplant to the garden area after all danger of frost for your zone has safely past.

PLANTING

From late March into April, it’s a great time to plant fruit trees and berries. Just be sure they have enough water and position roots North and South. Try a couple of our Thornless Blackberry Bushes for a delicious addition to your garden. (page 44 of the consumer catalog)
